Up to 50% of global road accidents may be caused by road work accidets.

According to several international organizations, including 25% of total road accidents that occur in the world are, somehow, accidents and this percentage reaches 50% if included accidents in itinere produced during the shifts in the workplace.

In Spain, 676 people were admitted to prison for traffic offenses in the first half of 2009, 71.1% more than the same period in 2008 and have processed 24,671 complaints of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and 20 031 for driving without a license.
