Driving and talking on phone

Since the entry into force of license points (1 July 2006), the main reasons for the loss of points remain excessive speed, not wearing a seat belt buckled or not wearing a helmet after riding a moped or a motorcycle.
But, according to latest figures from the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), there is a change, because for the first time the Spanish drivers lose more points for driving talking on mobile to do it drunk.
With data provided by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), the number of complaints to drive using the phone at the same time, already exceed the charges for driving under the influence of alcohol.
In July, just after 3 years of the new card, the DGT gave information about: 8% of complaints were to talk by phone and 9% for alcohol. Three months later, the reckless use of the phone has gone before, with 12.12% of 2.6 million complaints. The penalties for positive tests have meaning 10.12% of the total.
For its part, speeding remains a major cause of mortality on the roads.
