Volkswagen presents its autopilot for cars
The German group Volkswagen, Europe's first automobile manufacturer, has introduced its system "Temporary Auto Pilot" (TAP), which allows the vehicle move in a "semi" at speeds up to 130 kilometers per hour without intervention of the driver.
According to Volkswagen, this system, whose main objective is to contribute to a traffic accident-free, represents a connection between the current systems of care and future vision of a fully automatic driving.
The system has a semi-automatic driving mode called "Pilot Mode", which maintains safe distance with the car in front and keeps the vehicle in the central position with respect to the lane markings.
In addition, TAP also takes into account the rules in advance and speed limits. The start and stop maneuvers in embusos are also automated.
However, as the CEO of Volkswagen Group Research, Juergen Leohold, the driver always retains the responsibility for driving and always in control. "The driver can override the system on or off at any time and must handle it well at all times," he said.

Opel Ampera
The Opel Ampera is an extended range electric vehicle (E-REV) and its main difference with respect to hybrids is that the wheels always moved by the action of an electric propulsion unit, while the conventional hybrid , the wheels rotate by the action of a gasoline engine, an electric motor or both. In practice, hybrid vehicles require both sources (motor and battery) to achieve a full level of benefits.
The Opel Ampera does not need fuel consumed during the march into the battery life of 60 km. It has an electrical system called Voltec which provides 370 Nm of instant torque, and a top speed of 160 km / h.
The main components of the Voltec propulsion system are the T-shaped battery, a unit of 111 kW electric propulsion motor and a generator of electricity from a .4 liters of petrol and 82 hp.
With the Opel Ampera, can travel 60 miles using only the battery or over 500 km of autonomy extended thanks to the electricity generator.
The European Opel Ampera will be released in autumn 2011.
