AIDA: The robot that understands the driver
Imagine a device that once set in the control panel of the vehicle is able to communicate with the driver to capture their emotions, "reading" facial expressions and respond "appropriately socially and informatively": guiding it up at home, to the nearest gas station when he realizes that lack fuel or suggest going to a store or restaurant if it detects that the user is hungry.
Scientists at MIT have created AIDA (in English, affective agent driving intelligent).
This project was developed in collaboration with the Volkswagen Electronics Laboratory in Palo Alto (California), where he also collaborated in the development of navigation products similar to Google Maps 2.0.
AIDA also integrate an advanced GPS system, can establish patterns of behavior according to the emotions of the driver and the information provided for this. So the driver is able to understand, memorize the passages and answer predictivament usually made when prompted.
